DHAMAR August 17. 2024 (Saba) – A training course for directors of finance branches and accounting units in Dhamar province commenced on Saturday, focusing on the financial and accounting information system "AFMIS."
The course marks the beginning of the first phase of training.
Director of the Finance Office in the province Fouad al-Haboub stated that the ten-day course is designed to familiarize 24 participants with the AFMIS system, including its components, objectives, and its role in enhancing government financial operations.
Al-Haboub highlighted that AFMIS represents a significant advancement in managing government financial resources, aiming to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
This training is part of broader leadership directives to transition from manual to automated financial systems, facilitating better data flow, resource forecasting, and financial planning.
The course will cover essential aspects of AFMIS, including its use, data entry, and the state's general budget cycle. Participants will learn about resource budgeting, monthly financial statements, and system closing procedures, with a focus on enhancing financial performance and decision-making accuracy.
