SANA'A August 18. 2024 (Saba) - A formal handover took place on Sunday in the capital Sana'a as Dr. Abdullah al-Amir assumed the role of Minister of Oil and Minerals, succeeding the outgoing minister, Ahmed Daris.
During the ceremony, attended by Deputy Minister Yasser al-Wahidi, who also serves as Acting Executive Director of the Yemen Gas Company, Minister al-Amir praised the significant contributions of his predecessor.
He emphasized that the ongoing efforts are part of a broader Quranic project aimed at serving the resilient Yemeni people and alleviating their hardships.
Al-Amir highlighted the importance of aligning change with progress and development, expressing confidence that the ministry's team would meet the leadership's expectations.
Former Minister Daris expressed his gratitude for the dedication shown by the ministry's leaders and employees during his tenure, despite challenging circumstances. He urged the staff to rally behind the new leadership and conveyed his confidence in their ability to achieve remarkable results.
Ministry employees and leaders welcomed Minister Al-Amir, expressing their readiness to intensify efforts across various sectors within the oil and minerals field.
