Ibb Governor Abdulwahab Salah launched on Tuesday work on the rehabilitation and maintenance project for the main street in Ibb city, at a cost of $1.422 million, funded by the World Bank through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
The project consists of two sections: the first spans 2.2 kilometers, starting from the Transport Triangle to the Jibla Watercourse, while the second section extends 3.12 kilometers from Al-Adin Roundabout to the Transport Triangle.
The launch was attended by the Director of the Public Works Sector in the governorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami.
Meanwhile, Governor Salah and Engineer Al-Shami reviewed the progress of another project to rehabilitate some of Ibb’s streets with concrete paving, at a cost of 186 million Yemeni riyals, funded locally.
Governor Salah stated that launching the main street rehabilitation and maintenance project is a crucial step toward improving infrastructure in the governorate, contributing to smoother traffic flow and enhancing road safety.
He stressed the importance of monitoring implementation stages to ensure timely completion with the highest quality standards, noting that these projects are part of the province’s requirements for local development initiatives.
For his part, the Director of the Public Works Sector explained that the main street rehabilitation project is a strategic step toward infrastructure improvement, emphasizing that it will enhance traffic movement and reduce congestion.
