HODEIDA August 20. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch in Hodeida Governorate distributed relief aid to families affected by the floods in some districts.

The aid targeted thousand 174 families in the districts of Sukhna, Bayt al-Faqih, Bajil, and Zabid with food, shelter, and cash, as part of the emergency response plan to alleviate the suffering of families whose homes and properties suffered significant damage as a result of torrential rains.

Jaber al-Razehi, director of the Supreme Council branch in the province, explained that the aid included 633 families with food and shelter in Sukhna district, provided by the Yaman Foundation for Health and Social Development and the Sahab Khair Foundation for Relief and Development.

He pointed out that cash assistance was distributed to about 370 families in the Beit al-Faqih district, at a rate of 58,000 riyals per family, with the support of the Child Care Organization, as part of the continuous efforts to relieve citizens affected by the floods in the district's areas.

Al-Razehi also reported that 40 emergency response kits were distributed to those affected in Bajil district, and 161 kits in Zabid district, with the support of the Vision Hope Organization. He stressed the continuation of coordination with charitable and humanitarian organizations and institutions to help the community affected by the floods in the province.

The Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Branch noted the interaction of the Council's partners and their humanitarian efforts in providing aid and assistance to families suffering from the damage of torrential rains in Hodeida Governorate.
