Hodeida - Saba:
Today in Hodeidah Governorate, a training course on beekeeping and honey production concluded. This course was organized by the General Authority for the Development of Tihama, in collaboration with the Agricultural Cooperative Union and the local branch of the Humanitarian Affairs Council.
The course aimed - over a week - to rehabilitate 250 beekeepers, from the districts of Al-Marawah, Bajil and Al-Zahra, in the management of apiaries and improve the quality of honey production, with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross, within the project to support livelihoods and improve economic security for affected families.
In conclusion, the Director of the Central Agricultural Region, Eng. Yahya Hatem, pointed out the importance of the course to form bee units in the three districts under the umbrella of the associations, to improve the services provided to beekeepers, improve the marketing of their products, and ensure fair prices for products that enhance their rural resilience, contribute to improving productivity, and strengthen the local economy.
He pointed out that the course comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources to promote sustainable development in agricultural areas and improve the economic conditions of beekeepers in Hodeidah Governorate.
