Sana'a - Saba: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, expressed the Yemeni government's disapproval of what was stated in the final statement of the Gulf-European summit held in Brussels last week, regarding what was arbitrarily described as threats to security and navigation in the Red Sea, and Sana'a's call to stop attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considered this a devious attempt to support the Zionist entity to continue its war of extermination on Gaza by facilitating the passage of arms shipment ships and saving the Israeli economy from collapse following the bankruptcy and closure of the port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat).
He said, "This arbitrariness comes with what has become known that the warnings were clearly allocated to cargo ships affiliated with the Zionist entity or heading to its ports."
Minister Amer explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the threat to navigation is due to the militarization of the Red Sea by the US administration in defense of the interests of the Zionist entity. He pointed out the nihilistic refusal of this administration to take the less costly option of pressuring the entity to allow the entry of food and medicine to stop the deaths of the people of Gaza from hunger and disease or to intervene to stop the Zionist war of extermination instead of supplying it with weapons if it was serious about ending the tension in the Red Sea, the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Aden.
He wondered "whether the Brussels statement represents the involvement of some Gulf countries, led by Riyadh, in public support for the Zionist entity and practical participation in the US military confrontation against Yemen and whether they are capable of the consequences of such a hostile decision."
While the Foreign Minister confirmed the Yemeni government's rejection of the Brussels summit's efforts to internationalize securing the Red Sea, he stressed that the countries overlooking the Red Sea are the ones responsible for protecting it, appreciating the position of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, which rejects the intervention of any non-coastal countries.
