Japanese stock indices rose in the morning trading session on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today, Monday.

According to Japanese media, the 225-share Nikkei index rose 549.58 points, or 1.45 percent, to reach 38,463.50 points in the morning session.

The broader Topix index added 28.77 points, or 1.10 percent, to reach 2,647.09 points.
