Muscat/Moscow - Saba:
Oman's Ambassador to Moscow Hamoud bin Salem Al-Tuwaih said that Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said's visit to Moscow is of great importance as it is a state visit, which is one of the highest types of visits between state leaders.

The ambassador told Oman News Agency that on the sidelines of the visit, the two sides will sign 10 agreements, including an agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports.

The two sides also plan to sign a protocol on the establishment of a joint committee for trade, economic and technical cooperation. The bilateral agreements will include cooperation in the fields of trade, fisheries, sustainable development and information.

"The new agreements and memorandums of understanding between Oman and Russia will be an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations and will open new horizons for cooperation in many fields such as trade, energy, education and tourism," the ambassador added.

Earlier in the day, Oman's official news agency reported that Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will visit Moscow the day after Monday, at a time when Muscat is mediating nuclear talks between Tehran and the United States.

According to the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with the Sultan of Oman on Tuesday.

The two leaders will discuss key areas of cooperation, including trade, economic, financial, financial, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
