The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday with the general index increasing by 2.59 points, or 0.04%, reaching 7113.40 points.

A total of 509.7 million shares were traded through 19,828 transactions, amounting to 93.7 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 285.7 million US dollars).

The main market index, however, fell by 11.36 points, or 0.17%, closing at 6507.74 points, with 346.2 million shares exchanged in 11,719 transactions worth 46.7 million dinars (about 142.4 million dollars).

Conversely, the Premier Market Index rose by 6.42 points, or 0.08%, to close at 7617.39 points, with 163.4 million shares traded in 8,109 transactions valued at 46.9 million dinars (around 143 million dollars).

Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index decreased by 34.22 points, or 0.53%, ending at 6411.99 points, with 272.5 million shares changing hands in 8,014 transactions worth 37.5 million dinars (approximately 114.3 million dollars).
