Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Hezbollah bloc in the Lebanese parliament, said Wednesday that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant's threats to assassinate Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem will not discourage the resistance from continuing its path.
Fadlallah, a Hezbollah deputy, said during a press conference that the minister's threats would not dissuade Naim Qassem from continuing the march of resistance until victory. He stressed that "the response will be more adherence to their legitimate right to defend Lebanon, and these threats do not work with the resistance and its leaders and will not push them to retreat.
He added that the ultimate goal of the Zionist aggression is to destroy Hezbollah and impose a new equation in the region.
He explained that the Zionist enemy has been trying for days to advance towards the town of Khiam, where the resistance is confronting it strongly and steadily, thwarting all attempts to infiltrate, while the resistance from the south of the Litani directs its missiles towards the enemy gatherings behind the border.
Gallant said on Tuesday, commenting on Hezbollah's announcement of the election of Naim Qassem as its secretary-general to succeed Hassan Nasrallah, that what took place was "a temporary appointment and will not last long," referring to the attempt to assassinate him.
