Geneva - Saba:
The World Health Organization has expressed its deep concern over the Zionist attacks targeting health facilities and workers in the health sector in Lebanon.
The organization's spokesperson, Margaret Harris, stated in a press briefing in Geneva today, Friday: "While 55 attacks on health facilities have been confirmed, the actual number is likely much higher."
She added: "We are extremely concerned about the growing attacks on health workers and health facilities in Lebanon."
Harris reiterated that healthcare and health workers should not be targeted, noting that they are suffering from stress and displacement, and the loss of health workers continues despite the increasing need for them.
Harris pointed out that hospitals in Lebanon are overcrowded with victims, and the healthcare system is under immense strain.
According to figures from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the number of casualties in the health and hospital sector due to targeting by the Zionist enemy has exceeded 172 martyrs and 233 injured, in addition to damage to 39 hospitals, 80 medical and emergency centers, and 242 vehicles.
