London - Saba:
Over 100 employees of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have accused the organization of biased coverage in favor of "Israel" regarding the genocide being waged in the Gaza Strip.
The employees demanded that the broadcaster "return to its commitment to integrity, accuracy, and impartiality" in reporting on the conflict in Gaza.
In a letter sent to the BBC's Director-General Tim Davie, signed by more than 230 media professionals, including 101 BBC employees, the signatories criticized the corporation for failing to uphold its journalistic standards and for lacking accuracy.
The letter, published by *The Independent*, calls on the BBC to report "without fear or bias" and "to return to its commitment to the highest editorial standards, with an emphasis on credibility, fairness, and accuracy."
Among the other signatories are historian William Dalrymple, Dr. Katherine Haver, Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Director of Media at the University of Glasgow, Rawan Hamid, Director of the Media Monitoring Center, and broadcaster John Nicholson.
The letter also calls on the BBC to adopt a series of editorial commitments, including "highlighting that 'Israel' does not allow foreign journalists access to the Gaza Strip."
