Cairo - Saba:
Two Egyptian army officers were killed on Tuesday in a helicopter crash while conducting a training exercise for the Air Force in Shalofa area.
According to a statement from the Egyptian army, the crash occurred as part of routine training operations. The statement confirmed that the authorities are taking the necessary measures to investigate the incident. The armed forces also expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased officers.
The statement further explained that the crash may have been caused by technical or mechanical malfunctions, which can sometimes occur suddenly during flight. It noted that while some malfunctions are immediately detectable upon receiving aircraft from suppliers, others may arise unexpectedly during operations or due to the wear and tear of the aircraft from frequent use.
The army also pointed out that mechanical breakdowns are a natural part of aircraft operation, affecting components such as tires, filters, oils, hydraulics, and other essential parts that require regular maintenance and replacement.
The incident is under investigation, and further details will be provided as they become available.
