Gaza - Saba:
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Thursday condemned the Zionist raid that targeted the Mawasi area in Khan Younis, killing a child and injuring more than 20 other citizens.
In a post on the ‘X’ platform, the organisation condemned the Zionist enemy's targeting of the densely populated Mawasi area in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, which caused damage to its healthcare clinic in the area.
The organisation said: ‘On 13 November at around 11am, an airstrike hit the densely populated Mawasi area in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, with reported casualties. MSF had only a few minutes to evacuate its healthcare clinic located about 250 metres from the scene of the attack,’ MSF said.
The organisation quoted its coordinator Mariam as saying: ‘The explosion was huge. We did not receive an official evacuation order from the Israeli forces, we were notified by the residents. We evacuated both staff and patients from the clinic. We later found the equipment destroyed in the facility and shrapnel hit the desalination plant.’
She added: ‘There were about 500 patients and carers before the evacuation. The MSF team conducts between 600 and 700 outpatient consultations at the clinic every day, which will reopen due to the urgent needs of the population living in tents in harsh conditions.’
‘The use of heavy weapons in areas declared safe by the occupation is further evidence of the blatant disregard for Palestinian lives and humanitarian law,’ the organisation said.
