New York - Saba:
Human Rights Watch said that the series of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist entity in the Gaza Strip amount to "ethnic cleansing" that is being carried out systematically and according to a planned official policy.
In a report issued on Thursday, entitled "Desperate, Hungry, and Besieged," Human Rights Watch addressed the forced displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by the Zionist entity, and the behavior of the enemy authorities that led to the displacement of more than 90% of the population of Gaza (1.9 million Palestinians) and to widespread destruction in Gaza over the past 13 months.
The 154-page report confirmed that civilians in Gaza are suffering from continuous bombing of their homes and shelters, while they are unable to flee or obtain protection.
It pointed out that the Zionist enemy is using siege and starvation as tools of war, which increases the suffering of the civilian population, especially children who die due to Lack of nutrition and medical aid.
The report confirmed that the enemy authorities are preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid to the besieged areas in Gaza, which puts the lives of thousands at risk, and has caused the mass and deliberate forced displacement of civilians in Gaza since October 2023, and is responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Human Rights Watch interviewed 39 displaced Palestinians in Gaza, analyzed the Israeli evacuation system, including 184 evacuation orders and satellite images, and verified videos and photos of attacks on areas designated as safe and evacuation routes.
The New York-based international organization showed that the Israeli army carried out deliberate and organized demolitions of homes and civilian infrastructure, including in areas where they are supposed to be aimed at creating "buffer zones" and "security corridors", from which Palestinians are likely to be permanently displaced.
It said that contrary to the claims of Israeli officials, their actions do not comply with the laws of war.
Human Rights Watch refuted the Zionist claims that the Palestinian resistance is fighting among the civilian population, and that the Zionist army has legally evacuated civilians in order to attack these groups while minimizing harm to civilians.
Human Rights Watch research shows that this claim is false, as there is no compelling military reason to justify the mass displacement carried out by the Zionist entity of almost all of the residents of Gaza, and this often happened several times.
It showed that the Zionist evacuation system caused great harm to the population, and its goal was often only to spread fear and anxiety, and instead of ensuring the security of the displaced, the Zionist army repeatedly targeted evacuation routes and designated safe areas.
The report confirmed that the Zionist evacuation orders were inconsistent and inaccurate, and in many cases civilians were not notified of them in sufficient time to allow for the evacuation operations, or were not notified of them at all.
The orders did not take into account the needs of persons with disabilities and others who cannot move without assistance from others.
The organization's report concluded that the forced displacement was widespread, and evidence shows that it was systematic and part of state policy, and these acts also constitute a crime against humanity.
It suggested that the organized and violent displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, a different ethnic group, was planned to be permanent in the buffer zones and security corridors, which amounts to ethnic cleansing.
The report called on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to investigate the displacement of Palestinians by the Zionist entity and preventing them from exercising their right to return, as a crime against humanity.
It stressed the need for the United States, Germany and other countries to immediately suspend arms transfers and military aid to the Zionist entity, stressing that continuing to supply it with weapons exposes those countries to the risk of complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
