Sana'a - Saba:
Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Adel Bader and UNICEF Chief of Water and Sanitation Peter Herfy were briefed on the rehabilitation needs of the water and sanitation network in Sana'a's Old City.
They listened to a plan presented by the Director of the Water and Sanitation Corporation at the Capital City of Sana'a, Eng. Mohamed Madas, on the interventions required to rehabilitate the network, which suffers from great dilapidated conditions. Badir stressed that this project comes within the directives of the political leadership and the ministry's plan to improve services, stressing the importance of rehabilitating Sanaa's old networks.
For his part, the UNICEF representative expressed the organization's readiness to discuss funding for the plan. The delegation was also briefed on the progress of the project to rehabilitate the sewage transmission line in Sana'a liquid, funded by UNOPS, where the completion rate reached 92% and included the replacement of sewage lines with a length of 5.148 km.
