Berlin - Saba:
Germany has called on the upcoming G20 summit in Brazil to discuss the structure of the international community in the future, given the growing importance of emerging countries.
According to Russia Today, on Sunday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in Berlin before leaving for the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to participate in the group's summit, : "There are new powerful countries that have appeared on the world stage, and this is a good thing in principle."
"But in the light of this new world order, there are many things that of course have to be re-discussed and renegotiated," Scholz added.
The goal is to make this multipolar world a good one, Scholz said, noting that, for example, issues of cooperation within international institutions need to be discussed.
The two-day G20 summit begins on Monday in the Brazilian port city of Rio de Janeiro.
The summit, attended by the heads of state and government of the top 20 industrialized and emerging economies, will address issues such as fighting poverty, reforming international institutions and the global economy.
