Washington -Saba:
The US Senate today, Thursday, opposed a bill that would have halted the sale of some weapons to the Zionist entity, submitted by independent Senator Bernie Sanders, along with a number of Democratic lawmakers.
The bill was supported by 18 members, while 79 out of 100 members of the Senate opposed it; the decision that, if passed, would have halted the sale of tank ammunition to the Zionist entity.
The Senate is scheduled to vote later on two other resolutions that would halt the shipment of two other types of offensive military equipment.
All votes in favor of the measure were from Democratic members, while the rejection included representatives from both the Democratic and Republican parties.
Supporters of the bill hoped that forcing a vote would encourage the Biden administration and the enemy entity to do more to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The proposed aid, which is banned from being sent to the Zionist entity, according to the rejected bill, includes tank ammunition, F-15IA aircraft and mortars.
