The International Criminal Court issued two arrest warrants on Thursday for so-called Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of War of the occupation Yoav Galant.
The court said that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu and Galant committed crimes.
The court had received requests in this regard from the Attorney General Karim Khan last May, where he demanded the necessity of taking legal action against the Israeli officials. Khan had called last August to expedite the issuance of the warrants.
The court confirmed in its decision that there are "reasonable grounds to believe" that the Israeli officials committed those crimes between October 8, 2023 and May 20, the date on which Khan submitted the request to issue the arrest warrants.
It explained that Israel's acceptance of the jurisdiction of the court is not necessary to pursue legal action against them.
