Rome - Saba:
The Italian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that four Italian soldiers were injured in a new Zionist shelling on the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the town of Shamaa in southern Lebanon.
A military source in the Italian Ministry of Defense said that "four Italian soldiers were slightly injured and their lives are not in danger," adding that an investigation is underway.
Last Tuesday, an Italian unit base in UNIFIL was targeted, resulting in the destruction of part of it, as Zionist missiles hit a spare parts warehouse in the Italian base.
French soldiers within the "UNIFIL" forces were also exposed to gunfire last Tuesday, but without any injuries.
The French Foreign Ministry stressed the need to ensure the protection of peacekeeping soldiers, UN property and sites, and their safety and security.
On Wednesday, a UNIFIL spokesperson announced that Argentina has informed the mission of its intention to withdraw from the peacekeeping force in Lebanon. This decision comes in response to the recent Israeli attacks on the UN position in southern Lebanon.
