Hodeida - Saba:
Undersecretary of Hodeida province Ali al-Kabari on Sunday launched a free surgical medical camp for cataract removal and lens implantation at September 21 Hospital in al-Hali district. This camp is part of the campaign for the night of Ramadan 29, 1445 AH.
The camp, implemented by al-Basar International Charitable Foundation with funding from the Direct Aid Society, in coordination with the Camps Administration at the Ministry of Health and Environment and its office in the province, aims to provide examination services for two days and perform cataract surgeries with lens implantation for underprivileged communities from November 25 to 30.
During the launch, Undersecretary al-Kabari was briefed on the camp's services and the plan for receiving patients, emphasizing the efforts to support the camp, which reflects solidarity in helping low-income patients access necessary lens implantation surgeries and medical care.
For his part, Deputy Director of the Health Office in the province Dr. Walid al-Imad stated that the camp demonstrates the Ministry of Health's commitment to coordinating with relevant authorities to offer free health services to patients in impoverished areas.
Dr. Abdulrahman al-Musaibli, Director of September 21 Hospital, explained that on the first and second days of the camp, patients will undergo examinations to identify those requiring surgical intervention. These patients will also receive pre-operative evaluations.
He emphasized that the camp, which coincides with the annual anniversary of the martyr, aims to assist elderly and indigent patients who cannot afford the costs of such surgeries.
