The Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ministry announced the start of the implementation of the contract fishing program for fish products (fresh, frozen and dried).
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Minister, Dr. Radwan Ali Al-Rubaie, told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the contract fishing program includes 30 types of fish products.
He pointed out that the ministry seeks through this program to strengthen the mechanism of organizing marketing and developing exports of fish products, in implementation of the revolutionary leadership's directives, the Supreme Political Council and the program of the government of change and construction, to promote this sector.
Dr. Al-Rabaei called on exporters and practitioners of the profession of selling fish, to interact positively with the program and expedite their requests to purchase fish products, and coordinate with the General Department of Fish Marketing and the Fish Cooperative Union for the purpose of concluding contractual fishing contracts with producers through the Tihama Coast Association, in addition to taking the advantages and characteristics that are unique to Yemeni fish products.
He noted the importance of the program to contribute to supporting Yemeni fish products, raising the efficiency of marketing them locally and increasing their exports, thus reducing waste and wastage in the economic return of the Yemeni fisherman.
