Brussels - Saba:
The European Union Commission announced its support for the International Criminal Court (ICC), emphasizing that all EU countries are obliged to implement the arrest warrants issued against Zionist enemy Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former war minister Yoav Gallant.
In a press statement on Thursday, Commission spokesman Peter Stano pointed out that the European Union and its member states are strongly committed to ICC justice and the fight against impunity.
Stano added: "We support the ICC and the principles enshrined in the Rome Statute, and the EU respects the independence and impartiality of the court."
Last Thursday, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, in compliance with an earlier request by the court's prosecutor, Karim Khan, for war crimes in Gaza.
The ICC said in a press release that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant oversaw attacks against civilians.
