The Gaza Municipality warned on Monday of the accelerating environmental deterioration that threatens the city and leads it towards complete environmental collapse as a result of the continued Zionist aggression on the Strip.
According to the Palestine Today Agency, the municipality stated in a brief statement the enemy has been preventing the entry of gas into the Gaza and northern Gaza governorates since October 7, 2023, which has exacerbated the environmental and humanitarian crisis.
It added that people are forced to burn wood for cooking, noting that the enemy forced them to burn old clothes and plastic due to the scarcity of wood, which causes environmental pollution and the spread of diseases, and poses a real threat to the lives of residents.
Since October 7, 2023, the enemy forces have been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving a large number of martyrs and wounded, in addition to destroying the infrastructure in the besieged Strip, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
