The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations will raise the issue of the terrorist attack on Lieutenant General Kirillov before the Security Council during the meeting on December 20.
This came during a press briefing by the Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova today, Wednesday, where she continued, "The Permanent Mission to the United Nations will raise the issue of the terrorist attack (against the Commander of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov) at the UN Security Council meeting requested by Moscow on December 20 regarding the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine."
Zakharova stressed that all the coordinators and perpetrators of the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov "will be found and punished, whoever and wherever they are."
Zakharova had commented on the United Nations' avoidance of condemning the terrorist operation as "evidence of the organization's corruption," as she said that Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov "was known for his high professionalism, including at the level of international platforms and organizations."
The United Nations had avoided condemning the terrorist attack yesterday morning on the commander of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical and biological defense forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, and had merely called on all parties to the conflict to "exercise restraint and not to increase tensions." The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that Kirillov and his assistant were killed by an explosive device planted in an electric bicycle at the entrance to a residential building on Ryazansky Prospekt in the capital, Moscow, yesterday morning, Tuesday.
