Hodeida - Saba:
Work continues on the community-driven initiative to construct a secondary road connecting al-Zahra district center to al-Gharzah and al-Thuluth, with a budget of 112 million Y.R raised through local contributions.
The project involves leveling and filling a seven-kilometer stretch of road, as well as building concrete culverts for rainwater drainage.
The construction is divided into five stages, aimed at improving transportation and easing the daily hardships of local residents.
A field visit was conducted by key local figures including Deputy Director of the Community Initiatives Department Hadi Hassan to monitor the progress of the work and ensure it meets required specifications.
Hassan emphasized the critical role of the local community and the Zakat Authority in supporting the initiative, along with Tihama Development Authority’s provision of necessary equipment.
He noted that the road will serve not only citizens but also farmers in the targeted areas of al-Zahra district, aligning with local leadership's efforts to stimulate community-driven service and development projects.
Habab Hadi, head of the community committee for the initiative, highlighted the difficulties faced by the region’s residents due to the challenging terrain, stressing that work would continue until the road project is completed.
Hadi reviewed progress on al-Saqban road paving and expansion project in al-Qanawis district, which spans two kilometers.
Local leaders briefed him on the project’s importance in alleviating community struggles and the requirements needed for its completion.
