Today, Sunday, several Palestinian journalist martyrs in the Gaza Strip rose to 197, during the genocide committed by the Zionist enemy forces since October 7, 2023.
According to Palestine Online, the Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) announced the death of journalist Hazem Abu Arqoub in a Zionist air raid targeting his home in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The center added that the journalist Abu Arqoub, 43, was killed with his wife as a result of a Zionist air strike, bringing the number of journalists who have been martyred since December 11 to six.
The statement strongly condemned the dangerous escalation targeting Palestinian journalists while performing their professional duty, stressing that these "crimes represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which grants journalists special protection."
PJPC renewed its call on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to investigate these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice, stressing that Palestinian journalists are paying with their lives to show the truth.
According to preliminary statistics, the enemy army has killed about 197 journalists and media workers, wounded 396 others, and arrested 40 journalists since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza.
