Marseille advanced to the Round of 16 of the French Cup, after beating Saint-Etienne by four goals without a goal on Sunday in their match in the 32nd round of the competition, which also saw Monaco qualify by beating Onion Saint-Jean.
Marseille's four goals were scored by Mason Greenwood (22nd minute), Adrien Rabiot (34th), Louis Henrique III (68th) and Pierre-Emile Hoiberg (81st).
Marseille took advantage of Saint-Etienne's lack of numbers after Senegal's Ibrahim Sissoko was sent off in the 21st minute to outclass their opponents and seal the win.
Monaco also advanced to the same round by beating sixth-division side Onion Saint-Jean by four goals to one.
Elias Ben Saghir scored in the 20th minute, Campos Vanderson (37th), Jordan Tissi (65th) and substitute Georges Elenekina (90+1), while Benjamin Tournier scored the only goal for Unión Saint-Jean in the 83rd minute.
With the same result, Rennes qualified at the expense of fourth-division Bordeaux, while second-division Dunkirk beat Auxerre by a clean goal and Rennes beat Motzegh by three goals to one.
