Barcelona Supports Flick's Complaint, Files Official Protest Over Match Schedule
[Sun, 20 Apr 2025 22:51:17 +0300]

Barcelona-Saba:

Barcelona has announced its full support for its German coach, Hansi Flick, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's match schedule, describing it as a "joke."

He pointed out that his players are forced to go to bed at 4:00 a.m. after European matches, which negatively impacts their physical and mental performance.

In an official statement, the club expressed its dissatisfaction with the criteria set by the Spanish Professional League and the Spanish Football Federation regarding the scheduling of first-team matches. It stated that this issue is not new, and that the club will continue to defend its interests before local and international football bodies for a more balanced and logical sporting schedule.

The statement indicated that the club will file an official complaint with football's governing bodies to avoid a recurrence of such situations that harm the most important elements of the game: the players. It emphasized the need to structure the schedule more carefully, as the health and performance of the players depend on it.

It is worth noting that Barcelona leads the Spanish league standings with 70 points, four points ahead of its runner-up, Real Madrid. He is preparing to face Real Valladolid in the league on May 3, just 72 hours before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan, which angered Flick.
