Moscow - Saba:
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Tuesday that Turkey is awaiting a response from Ukraine to discuss the possibility of hosting a third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking to the press, Fidan stated: “The Russian side has expressed readiness for a third round, and we are now waiting for a response from the Ukrainian side. Our communications are ongoing.”
The second round of talks took place in Istanbul on June 3 at the Ciragan Palace and lasted over an hour. Both parties exchanged memorandums of understanding aimed at resolving the conflict.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that important agreements were reached during the Istanbul meeting and would be implemented, though he cautioned against expecting immediate breakthroughs.
He noted that negotiations are progressing, but "it is wrong to expect any instant solutions or dramatic developments."
