Taiz – SABA:
Officials in Taiz held a meeting today to review UNICEF-supported health activities, address operational challenges, and explore solutions to improve healthcare delivery in the governorate.
The meeting included the Director of the Health and Environment Office in Taiz, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakkil; UNICEF representatives Dr. Kabir Hassan and Head of Health Section Dr. Jamal Rashid; as well as the Director of Primary Healthcare and other local health program managers.
Dr. Al-Mutawakkil commended UNICEF’s ongoing support for the health sector in Taiz and expressed hope that funding for several recently suspended activities would be resumed to ensure uninterrupted medical services and alleviate the suffering of patients.
Participants reviewed key programs and health interventions implemented during the first half of 2025 and discussed the suspended components, as well as the necessary requirements and mechanisms for carrying out activities in the second half of the year.
Dr. Murad Dahan, UNICEF’s Health and Nutrition Specialist for Taiz-Ibb, also attended the meeting.
