Germany: 2 Palestinian supporters smear Prime Minister's building with red paint

Berlin - Saba:

Two Palestinian supporters in Berlin smeared the facade of the Prime Minister's building with red paint to draw attention to the genocide in the Gaza Strip and to protest German military support for Israel.

The two activists belong to the "Palestine Rising" group, affiliated with the New Generation movement, and were arrested after their protest on Monday.

A statement issued by the New Generation Movement stated that the activists' protest drew attention to the genocide in Gaza and called on Germany to end its "complicity in this crime."

The statement noted that Germany continues to export millions of euros worth of weapons to Israel despite mounting criticism of the violence in the Gaza Strip.

It added, "The German administration has blood on its hands," noting that Germany is complicit in these crimes by continuing to supply weapons to Israel.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
