Sana'a - Saba:
An expanded meeting on Saturday, chaired by Dr. Hamoud Ubad, mayor of the capital, was held to discuss the preparations for launching the Community Cleaning and Awareness Campaign, scheduled for January 1, 2025, across the streets and neighborhoods of the capital Sana'a.
The meeting, attended by heads of key committees including Hamoud al-Naqeeb of Social Affairs, Adel Real Estate of Planning, and Sharaf al-Hadi of Services, as well as other executive leaders, focused on the mechanisms and strategies to ensure the success of the campaign. He stressed the need for a coordinated effort from all relevant sectors, encouraging the public to actively participate in the initiative, which aims to enhance the capital’s aesthetic value and symbolize Yemeni resilience.
Ubad praised the ongoing efforts of workers in cleaning and infrastructure sectors, urging directors of directorates to ensure effective waste removal, organize street stalls, and address violations to maintain the city's visual appeal.
Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness as a collective responsibility, the Secretary called for establishing a culture where maintaining cleanliness is part of the community's religious and social values. He also called for continuous support for cleaning workers and the activation of environmental awareness campaigns throughout the year.
Ibrahim al-Sarabi, Director of the Cleaning Project in the Capital Sana'a, and Mohammed al-Marzouqi, Head of the General Union of Municipal Workers, outlined the program for the upcoming campaign.
The program includes comprehensive cleaning efforts in all districts of the capital Sana'a with both official and community participation, focusing on streets, neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces to improve Sana'a's overall appearance.
