Hajjah - Saba:
Hajjah province has witnessed the implementation of 83 projects in the rural water projects sector during the past year 1445 AH at a total cost of 3 billion and 715 million and 128 thousand Y.R.
The cost of the projects under implementation, which number 16 projects, amounted to 364 million and 203 thousand Y.R, compared to 37 projects under implementation at a cost of 3 billion and 45 million and 907 thousand Y.R.
The rural water projects reflect the keenness of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, as well as the interest of the local authority leaders in the province, the Ministry of Water, the Rural Water Projects Authority, and relevant authorities in working according to the drawn plans and urgent priorities.
Hajjah governor Hilal al-Sufi noted in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) all the integrated efforts made to implement sustainable projects that meet the need and alleviate the suffering of citizens, especially in light of the current circumstances the country is going through.
Al-Sufi praised the follow-up of the local councils in the districts and overcoming the difficulties facing these projects and the community's interaction and initiative in implementing a number of projects in this sector
Implemented projects:
A report issued by the Rural Water Projects Authority received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) indicated that the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit contributed 502 million and 85 thousand Y.R to the implemented projects, compared to 118 million and 700 thousand Y.R as a contribution from the community and the rest of the amount from humanitarian partners.
The report stated that the number of beneficiaries of the 83 projects implemented during the past year was 339,144 people in 21 directorates, indicating that 31 projects were implemented in the city directorates square, 26 in Tihama square, 17 in Ahem directorates, in addition to 9 projects in the directorates of al-Sharfain square.
It indicated that 10 projects were implemented in al-Shaghaderah, 6 in Bani Qais, 4 in al-Maghriba, 3 in Najrah, 2 in Shars, the same in Hajjah, 2 in Mabyan, and a project in each of Bani al-Awam and al-Jumaimah.
In Tihama districts, 14 projects were implemented in Abs according to the report, 8 in Aslam, 3 in Kaidna, and a project in Khairan al-Muharraq. In Ahem districts, 8 projects were implemented in Mustaba, 4 in Kushar, 4 in Washha, and a project in Qara.
The projects implemented in al-Sharfain districts during the past year were distributed according to the report between Al-Miftah with 5 projects, two projects in Kuhlan al-Sharf, one project in al-Mahabisha and another in Qafl Shammar.
Projects under implementation:
The report stated that the number of those who will benefit from the 16 projects under implementation is 109,599 people, and that 6 projects are being implemented in Tihama square, distributed equally between Abs, Kaidna, Aslam and 3 projects in Washha, Kushar and Mustaba in Ahem.
It pointed out that 3 projects were implemented in Aflah al-Sham, al-Miftah and Kuhlan al-Sharfain districts, two projects in Bani Qais, one project in al-Jumaimah and one in Kuhlan Afar in the city square.
The report pointed out that the contribution of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit to the projects under implementation amounts to 100 million and 194 thousand, compared to 3 million Y.R as a community contribution and the rest of the funding sources from humanitarian partners.
Projects underway:
The report added that the number of people who will benefit from 37 projects underway is 288,595 people, and that the Central Development Interventions Unit supports these projects with an amount of 1 billion, 613 million, and 637 thousand riyals, while the community contributes with an amount of 32 million and 900 thousand riyals and the rest of the support is through humanitarian partners.
The report indicated that 11 projects underway will be implemented in the districts of Tihama and Hissa Abs, including 6 projects, two projects in Kaidna, two projects in Aslam, and a project in Khairan al-Muharraq, while two projects will be implemented in the districts of Ahem in each of Kushar and Mustaba.
The report pointed out that 9 projects will be implemented in the districts of al-Sharfain, including 3 in al-Miftah and the same in Kuhlan al-Sharaf, two projects in Aa-Mahabisha, and another in Qafl Shammar.
He pointed out that the city's districts have a share of 15 projects, including 5 in al-Maghribah, 4 in Bani Qais, and one project in each of al-Jumaimah, Hajjah, al-Shaghaderah, Dhahra, Mabyan, and Bani al-Awam.
Head of the rural water projects sector in the province Saleh al-Falahi indicated that these projects come in response to the directives of the wise revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council to focus on implementing water projects and alleviating the suffering of the people of remote areas.
He pointed out that the process of selecting the districts to implement the projects was based on several criteria, most notably the priority and need of the beneficiaries, noting that there were districts that completely lacked water projects, and for the first time such projects are being implemented.
He appreciated the interest, interaction, and keenness of the province's leadership, the ministry, rural water projects, the central emergency development interventions unit, relevant authorities, and humanitarian work partners to implement these projects.
