The first phase of the maintenance and rehabilitation project for the 33-kilovolt high-pressure network in Manakhah district of Sana'a province was launched.
This phase includes rehabilitation and maintenance work for the 33-kilovolt high-pressure network from al-Khamis area in Bani Saad district of Mahweet province, as well as maintenance of the main transformer station in Al-Aridah area of Manakhah district(33/11 kilovolts). It also covers the maintenance of the 11-kilovolt network extending from Al-Aridah to Manakhah city.
At the inauguration, Dr. Mashaal al-Rifi, Director of the General Electricity Corporation, explained that prior to the electrical connection process for Manakhah district, several procedures were completed.
These included inspecting and repairing the 33kv power transmission lines, replacing damaged insulators and cylinders from Khamis Bani Saad to al-Aridah station, repairing and maintaining the transformer station, replacing oil breakers, and inspecting and repairing the 11kv transmission lines from Al-Aridah station to Manakhah city, covering a distance of 35 km.
Dr. al-Rifi also noted that the high-pressure network within the city was repaired, transformers at Manakhah branch were maintained, and connections were made between Manakhah al-Olya and Ba'ah section of the city.
The branch transformer was interconnected to ensure the safety of the lines. He expressed appreciation for the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and his commitment to ensuring electricity reaches both rural and urban areas.
He commended the leadership and staff of the Sana'a Region Electricity Authority for their dedication in fulfilling the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership, as well as meeting the citizens' expectations for affordable electricity.
In his remarks, Eng. Ghazi Ali, Director of Electricity for Sana'a Region, stated that the second phase of the project, with a total cost of 90 million riyals, will focus on improving the internal network in Manakhah city using various sections of Nokia cables and high-pressure "Nokia aerial" systems to replace the exposed sections damaged during the past period due to power outages resulting from the ongoing aggression and siege.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Eng. Ali al-Nahari, Director of Distribution at the Province Electricity, Eng. Abdo al-Suhaili, Director of Electricity in Manakhah, and several engineers, technicians, and administrators from the regional electricity authority and Manakhah's electricity department.
