H.E. Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, sent a cable of condolences on the death of poet and writer Sultan Al-Sarimi, after a life full of literary work.
In the cable of condolences he sent to the deceased's son, Ghassan, and his brothers, President Al-Mashat praised the intellectual and poetic work of the deceased, as he was a prominent member of the General Union of Arab Writers and the Union of Yemeni and Writers, and left imprints in the Yemeni and Arab cultural and literary scene.
He pointed out that Yemen has lost one of its most important pioneers in poetry, thought and literature, and the enlightenment movement demanding freedom, justice and equal citizenship.
The President of the Supreme Political Council expressed sincere condolences and great sympathy to the deceased's family, the Yemeni literary , cultural community, and all his lovers and fans. He prayed to Allah, the Almighty, to have mercy on the deceased, and to grant his family and relatives patience and solace.
"May God have mercy on him and may he rest in peace."
