The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expected cold to very cold weather in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that it expects very cold weather during the night and early morning hours in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran and Sa'ada, and does not rule out the formation of frost.
It pointed to cold to very cold weather in the highlands of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, Al-Dhale'e, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa and the highlands and deserts of Al-Jawf, Marib, Hadramout and Al-Mahrah.
According to the center, the lowest temperatures recorded in some meteorological monitoring stations this morning were 3.2 in Dhamar, 3.9 in Al-Bayda, 4.4 in Amran, and 4.8 in Sana'a.
He called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the late night and early morning hours, to take the necessary precautions and measures to protect themselves from the cold and very cold weather. The center advised farmers to take the necessary measures to protect their crops, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers and poultry farmers to protect them from the effects of the severe cold.
