Capitals - Saba:
Coinciding with the disclosure of the approval of the administration of the outgoing US President Joe Biden, for a huge arms deal for the Zionist entity, within the framework of Washington's continued support for the occupation entity in the crime of genocide it is committing in the Gaza Strip, the Zionist enemy forces continue, through a complete policy of ethnic cleansing, to target safe Palestinians in their homes and places of displacement for the 456th consecutive day.
In the latest crimes of genocide, the Zionist enemy forces committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, resulting in the arrival of 59 martyrs and 273 injured to hospitals.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported in a statement that the death toll from the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 45,717 martyrs, and 108,856 wounded since October 7, 2023. Regarding the crimes of killing aid workers in the Gaza Strip, nine personnel were martyred today, Saturday, after two vehicles carrying them were targeted on Salah al-Din Street near Abu Holi Junction in Deir al-Balah.
The Civil Defense in Gaza said that it had recovered the bodies of nine martyrs who were assassinated by the Zionist warplanes when it targeted two vehicles carrying them in Deir al-Balah. In a statement, the government media office in Gaza condemned the repeated attacks against humanitarian aid workers in the Strip, stressing the need for a firm stance by international and UN organizations and the entire world to stop these violations.
In a related context, the World Health Organization representative in the Palestinian territories, Rick Peeperkorn, said that nearly seven percent of the population of the Gaza Strip have been killed or injured since October 2023.
Peperkorn drew attention to the fact that 25 percent of the wounded, who number more than one hundred thousand, suffer permanent injuries that have changed their lives, and will need rehabilitation and lifelong medical assistance.
He noted that there are more than 12 thousand Palestinians in Gaza who need to be transferred outside the Strip to receive treatment, including children.
Peperkorn pointed to the slow pace of evacuations, as "Israel" only grants a limited number of permits. He announced that the Zionist enemy has rejected most of the World Health Organization's requests, which include transferring patients and bringing in medical aid and supplies to hospitals.
In turn, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, said: The humanitarian catastrophe committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza continues before the eyes of the world... stressing that the Zionist entity's methods in the war have led to the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians and widespread displacement and destruction.
During his briefing to the UN Security Council, Turk referred to a report issued by his office that covered the war on Gaza until the end of June 2024. He explained that the report documented systematic attacks on hospitals in Palestine using various methods, including Zionist airstrikes, usually followed by ground incursions by the occupation army, and the detention of patients and workers, including doctors, nurses, and others.
Turk spoke about the recent Zionist attacks and the siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital, indicating that it is one of the last hospitals that remained operating in the northern Gaza Strip.
He also referred to reports about the arrest of the hospital director, Hussam Abu Safia, as well as reports about the mistreatment and torture of Palestinians, including medical staff.
He stressed that "the destruction of hospitals across Gaza goes beyond depriving Palestinians of their right to adequate health care, as these hospitals provided a safe haven for thousands of people who had nowhere else to go."
Turk refuted the Zionist entity's claims that Gaza hospitals are being used for military purposes by the Palestinian resistance, saying: "Israel has not provided sufficient information and evidence for its claims, which are often vague and general, and sometimes contradict available information."
He stressed the need to conduct comprehensive, independent and transparent investigations into all Zionist attacks on hospitals and basic civilian infrastructure, including medical infrastructure and health workers.
This comes at a time when the administration of US President Joe Biden notified Congress of a potential arms deal with the Zionist entity worth eight billion dollars, as part of Washington's continued support for the occupation in the crime of genocide it is committing in Gaza.
The potential deal includes ammunition for fighter jets and attack helicopters and artillery shells, in addition to small-diameter bombs and warheads.
The Axios website said that the new deal represents a long-term agreement, with some of its items being provided from current US stockpiles, but most of the supplies will be delivered within a year or more.
The website confirmed that the deal will need the approval of committees in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The last arms sale to the Zionist entity is likely to be during the Biden era, who hands over power to his successor, Donald Trump, on January 20.
Recently, the American newspaper "The Washington Post" confirmed that the Biden administration should immediately stop arming the Zionist entity in response to the starvation approach it is imposing in the Gaza Strip in the midst of the ongoing genocidal war for the second year in a row.
The newspaper confirmed in an opinion article by prominent writer David Ignatius that "when President Joe Biden thinks about issues that he can advance in his political legacy, he must put taking decisive action to help the civilian population affected by the war in Gaza at the top of his list."
The article stressed that "the burden of the suffering of Palestinian civilians in the year-long conflict in Gaza is unbearable."
