The financial fines, during the past year, amounted to 16 million, 803 thousand and 410 riyals, Fahd Al-Gharbani added.

He stressed the continuation of periodic field campaigns to monitor markets, facilities, shops and bakeries with the aim of controlling violations, amid "need for cooperation between local authorities in the districts to enhance the efforts of field control teams in controlling violators in a way that ensures consumer protection and achieves price stability in the markets."

The Deputy Director of the Industry Office, Aziz Al-Khawlani, expressed willing to protect the consumer by providing their needs for food, basic and consumer goods, facilitating their access to markets and preventing monopoly, especially in such exceptional circumstances that the country is going through, calling on citizens to cooperate with the field control teams affiliated with the office and report any violations by traders on the toll-free number "174".
