Beirut - Saba:
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called today, Saturday, for the withdrawal of the Zionist army from the south by the end of the specified deadline.
This came after Guterres met with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, in Beirut today.
For his part, Lebanese President, General Joseph Aoun, stressed that "the continued Israeli violations and the destruction of border villages completely contradict what was stated in the ceasefire agreement, and is considered a continuation of the violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the will of the international community to restore stability to southern Lebanon."
Aoun stressed that Lebanon is committed to the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the south within the specified deadline in the agreement, i.e. sixty days.
President Aoun considered that "Guterres' visit to Lebanon a week after his election as President of the Republic is a message of hope to the Lebanese," thanking "the support provided by the United Nations organizations to Lebanon in all fields."
