Sana'a - Saba:

Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohamed Saleh Al-Nuaimi stressed the importance of the Grain Development Foundation's role in enhancing local production of agricultural crops, especially grains, to achieve self-sufficiency in light of the country's difficult circumstances due to the siege.

This came during his visit to the General Corporation for the Development and Production of Cereals and his knowledge of the activities of manufacturing machinery and agricultural equipment in its industrial workshop.

Al-Nuaimi stressed the need to intensify efforts to support the agricultural sector, praising the developments of the Foundation in the technical and industrial aspects, especially the manufacture of agricultural equipment. He also directed the expansion of agricultural activities to include a wider area of land in various governorates, in a way that contributes to the advancement of the agricultural sector and the achievement of sustainable development.

A meeting headed by Al Nuaimi discussed the Foundation's plans and future programs, with a focus on developing agricultural infrastructure and supporting local production. The meeting also reviewed the summer harvest for the year 2024, the challenges faced by the harvesting process, and the proposed solutions to improve performance.

Al-Nuaimi affirmed the commitment of the Supreme Political Council to support the Grain Foundation to enhance national food security. He praised the efforts of the Foundation to raise the percentage of self-sufficiency from crops such as wheat, maize, beans, and soybeans.

For his part, the CEO of the Foundation, Eng. Salah Al -Mashriqi, reviewed the plans for agricultural expansion in areas such as Al-Jouf and Tahhama, and the importance of strengthening partnerships with the private sector to ensure the sustainability of agricultural projects and support rural societies while facing the economic challenges resulting from the siege.
