Sana'a - Saba:

Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights Judge Ibrahim al-Shami and several officials and employees in the ministry visited the Great Mosque in Old Sana'a on the occasion of the Friday of Rajab, the anniversary of Yemenis' conversion to Islam.

The delegation was briefed on the religious and historical components of the mosque, such as the Qur'an written in the handwriting of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib, rare books and manuscripts, the Awsaja Dome, and the historical qibla.
They listened to an explanation about the Quran memorization and linguistics and exegesis taught at the mosque.

The delegation inspected the ongoing restoration work on the southern side of the mosque, including the restoration of wooden columns and boxes.

The delegation visited the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque, located northeast of the Great Mosque, and was briefed on its religious and historical symbolism.

Judge Alawi Sahl bin Aqeel confirmed that the Great Mosque, built by order of the Prophet, peace be upon him, represents a symbol of Yemenis' connection to Islam, the Prophet Muhammad, and his family.
He pointed out that the Yemenis' leadership in support of the Palestinian people reflects their glorification of these religious beacons.

Judge al-Shami stressed the importance of the Friday of Rajab as a commemoration of Yemenis' conversion to Islam and their attachment to the Mohammedan religion.
He called for strengthening the faith identity of the Yemeni people and considered the celebration of this occasion an expression of thanksgiving to God for the blessing of Islam.
