Brussels - Saba:
The European Palestinian Media Center announced today, Tuesday, that it had monitored more than 30,000 demonstrations and events organized in 619 cities across 20 European countries, over the course of 470 days of the war launched by the Zionist enemy army on the Gaza Strip.
The center explained in a statement that these events were an expression of broad solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, and a protest against the ongoing Zionist crimes in the Strip.
The monitoring and follow-up department at the center documented the size of the events in all European capitals and cities over the course of 15 months, as they varied between mass demonstrations and various events in support of Gaza.
According to statistics, Germany hosted the most events, with 4,665 demonstrations and activities in 122 cities, followed by Spain with 4,472 events in 126 cities, then Italy with 3,765 events in 104 cities.
France also witnessed more than 3,400 demonstrations in 105 cities, while Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands witnessed huge events with thousands of participants.
Despite the varying numbers between countries, solidarity movements with Palestine were present throughout the European continent.
Participation was not limited to Palestinians residing in Europe, but also included members of Arab and Islamic communities, in addition to activists, academics and European representatives, who participated out of humanitarian motives, in protest against the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza.
Despite these massive events, hundreds of cases were recorded in which demonstrators were attacked by police and security forces in various European cities. The protesters were demanding an end to the Zionist aggression, holding the enemy accountable for its crimes, opening the crossings to allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and providing medical supplies to the sector.
