Sana’a – SABA
Researcher Ali Hussein Dhafer has been awarded a Doctorate in Arts and Humanities from the Doctoral Institute at the Lebanese University, for his dissertation titled:
“Media and the Manufacturing of Fear – COVID-19 as a Model: A Content and Semiotic Analysis of Arabic-language Foreign News Websites (CGTN, RT, CNN), 2020–2021.”
The dissertation was defended via online session held at the Faculty of Media, Sana’a University, in front of the doctoral committee from the Lebanese University, chaired by Dr. Mohammad Mohsen, supervised by Dr. Habib Rammal, and including Dr. Iyad Obeid, Dr. Mai Abdullah, Dr. Dolly Al-Sarraf, and external observer Dr. Mohammad Al-Faqih from the Faculty of Media, Sana’a University.
The committee praised the quality of the dissertation and its findings and recommendations.
The session was attended by Dr. Omar Al-Bakheiti, Dean of the Faculty of Media, along with a number of academics and media professionals.
