Taiz – Saba:
Al-Raheeda Customs Center in Taiz Governorate, in coordination with the Anti-Smuggling Unit, seized quantities of smuggled pesticides and cigarettes in two separate operations on Thursday.
According to center director Mohammed Al-Jabri, the first operation uncovered 78 pesticide containers hidden inside a vehicle engine compartment, air filter, and spare tire. In the second, 23 cartons of cigarettes were seized in the Al-Salou area while being smuggled on the backs of porters.
Al-Jabri praised the efforts of the Anti-Smuggling Unit and the customs enforcement team in preventing and thwarting smuggling attempts. He affirmed the center’s firm commitment to intercepting all forms of banned and illegal goods.
Deputy Director for Customs Enforcement Affairs, Fahd Al-Muadhin, added that customs personnel and relevant agencies continue to work in close coordination to combat smuggling and protect public safety from the dangers of illegal goods.
