Bayda - Saba:
The residents of Al-Faqih area in Al-Arsh District, Al-Bayda province, celebrated on Thursday the 14th annual mass wedding for 38 grooms and brides. The event was organized by the Al-Faqih Cooperative Association for Mass Weddings with contributions from the local community.
Al-Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris congratulated the newlyweds on their marriage and the completion of half their faith, praising the initiative of mass weddings in the villages of Al-Arsh District. He emphasized that this tradition reflects the community's awareness and serves as a model for organizing collective weddings.
He noted that mass weddings are an effective way to facilitate marriage for young people, reduce costs, and curb extravagance. Additionally, they help stabilize marital life, strengthen social ties, and foster a spirit of solidarity within the community.
The celebration was attended by Deputy Governor Nasser Al-Aji, President of Al-Bayda University Dr. Ahmed Al-Arami, and agricultural sector officials Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari and guidance officer Ahmed Al-Hamzi.
Fawzi Al-Ghadri, head of the Al-Faqih Cooperative Association for Mass Weddings, stated that the 14th mass wedding is an annual tradition upheld by the community and the association to ease the financial burden of marriage on young people and eliminate the extravagance often seen in individual weddings in the district.
On behalf of the grooms, Mohammed Al-Nusairi expressed gratitude to the organizing committee for their efforts in making the festive wedding a success.
The event, attended by members of the local authority, executive officials, and social figures, featured poetry recitations, cultural performances, and traditional dances showcasing the customs and heritage of Al-Arsh region.
