Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Baja'ala, met today with Major General Ibrahim Al-Moayyad, the Head of the Civil Defense Authority.
During the meeting, aspects of coordination and cooperation between the ministry and its affiliated sectors and civil society organizations were discussed with the Authority in preparing emergency plans to confront and reduce disaster risks.
In the meeting, Minister Baja'ala stressed the keenness to support the efforts of the Authority and the activities of civil society organizations working in the humanitarian field to prepare a disaster response plan, especially with the continuation of aggression and siege, pointing to the importance of awareness and training on how to deal with emergencies.
He pointed out the importance of integrating roles between all concerned and community parties and harnessing capabilities to improve the performance of civil defense, praising the efforts made by the Authority in developing its capabilities and fulfilling its responsibilities towards society.
In turn, the Head of the Civil Defense Authority reviewed the efforts of the Authority in preparing the emergency plan to confront disasters, appreciating the great support of the Ministry of Social Affairs in this regard.
He stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with organizations developing coordination mechanisms and unifying efforts during emergencies.
