The death toll from the devastating fires sweeping the Los Angeles area has risen to 29.
According to what was reported by Agence France-Presse today, Tuesday, the coroner's office announced that one person died in the hospital earlier in the week as a result of the "Palisades" fire in the western part of Los Angeles.
All residents of the Pacific Palisades area were allowed to enter their properties for the first time yesterday, Monday, after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the step via the "X" application.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the long-awaited rain and snow fell on the mountains.
Media reports indicated that several roads were closed due to flooding and mudslides, but fortunately, the heaviest rain fell over the ocean.
Authorities say that the Palisades fire has been 95 percent contained, and the Eaton fire, near the city of Pasadena, has been 99 percent contained.
The two fires have destroyed more than 16,000 buildings and more than 150 square kilometers since the beginning of this month.
