A meeting of the tourism sector in Sana'a City on Thursday discussed a mechanism to organize the work of travel and tourism agencies accredited in the Capital's districts in accordance with the legal terms and regulations.
The meeting, which included the head of the tourism sector in Sana'a City, Ibrahim Al-Wazir, his deputy, Al-Tayeb Al-Bukhaiti, and the directors and representatives of travel and tourism agencies accredited in the Capital's districts, reviewed the requirements regulating the work of agencies, the necessity of submitting or renewing their licenses and correcting their conditions, as well as the controls that ensure protecting the rights of the traveling public and improving services.
The meeting touched on the complaints received by the tourism sector in the Sana'a City, including opening travel agencies and offices without licenses.
The Minister stated that the branches of the tourism sector in the districts were instructed to follow up on the violating agencies and oblige them to quickly correct their situations and meet the regulatory conditions, and that the violating agencies will be seized and the necessary measures will be taken against them.
He said all travel agencies and offices have to adhere to the law and regulatory conditions and deal with the citizen with transparency and credibility and provide all the necessary data on the websites about the transaction so that the citizen can know and follow up on his transaction.
He pointed out that the tourism sector and its branches receive complaints and reports from citizens about any violations.. calling on citizens not to deal with any unlicensed agencies in order to ensure the protection of their rights.
