The Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research honored on Thursday the universities that excelled in the third scientific competition for students from public and private universities in various fields including human medicine, civil engineering, architectural engineering, and therapeutic nutrition.
The two-day event, organized in cooperation with Sana'a University, saw the participation of 160 male and female students from 25 universities across the capital and various governorates.
The competition aimed to foster academic development, promote a spirit of competition, and encourage students to exchange knowledge and experiences.
Dr. Hatem al-Duais, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, awarded prizes to the top universities in each field.
Dhamar university secured first place in human medicine, with Ibb University and Amran university following in second and third positions. In architectural engineering, Sana'a University claimed first place, with the Yemeni University and Dar Al Salam International University earning second and third places, respectively.
Sana'a university also took first place in civil engineering, while Dhamar university and al-Hikma University earned second and third positions. In therapeutic nutrition, Ibb university emerged first, followed by al-Razi University and the Yemeni university.
In his speech, Dr. al-Duais congratulated all the winning universities, emphasizing that all participants were winners for their efforts and the valuable exchange of knowledge they demonstrated.
Dr. Mohammed al-Haifi, rector of Dhamar university, praised Sana'a university for hosting the competition and highlighted the event's significance in evaluating the academic progress and skills acquired by students.
Abdulkarim al-Dahhak, Director General of Activities in the Higher Education Sector, also underscored the ministry's commitment to promoting student activities that motivate diligence, foster creativity, and enable students to acquire and exchange knowledge.
The event brought together leaders from the Ministry of Education and various universities, further enhancing the importance of academic collaboration and competition in Yemen's higher education sector.
